What matters on site
- Ready to lay Mats and runners arrive cut and finished, put them down, no fitting and no adhesive.
- Floor show Leave 10–13 cm (4–5 in) of floor showing on all four sides so the mat reads as a mat rather than fitted flooring.
- In-and-outdoor use The yarn is UV-stabilised, so entrance and patio use is fine. The PVC foam backing holds water and can take days to dry, so bring mats inside during long spells of rain.
- Slippery floors The backing grips well on smooth hard floors when dry. It is not treated for slip resistance when wet, so mats in wet areas should be fixed or moved.
- Painted floors Let fresh paint cure before laying the mat. Vinyl backing and uncured paint can react and discolour the floor.
- Underfloor heating Fine at normal underfloor heating temperatures, around 40 °C.
- Trimming on site The material can be cut with a sharp knife where a size needs adjusting.
Everyday maintenance
- Routine Clean with warm, soapy water, then rinse well with clean water.
- Do not machine wash Do not machine wash and do not dry clean, neither the backing nor the weave will survive it.
- Outdoor mats Hose them off, then hang up to dry thoroughly before putting them back down.
- Spills Blot with a cloth rather than rubbing, so nothing is worked into the weave.
- Stubborn marks Use a mild soap solution; test any other cleaner on an unseen area first.
- Drying Dry flat where you can. The foam backing holds water and a folded mat can dry into a crease.
Custom and special orders
- Four formats Door mats, area rugs, runners and patio mats, plus any customer size you need.
- Runner sizes 60–90 cm (2–3 ft) wide and 180–430 cm (6–14 ft) long as standard.
- Matching a flooring scheme The same woven vinyl runs through the flooring and wall covering lines, so mats can match a fitted floor exactly.
